Introduction: An all-staff training on the LHP. This training is simple and time sensitive and consists of:
- An introduction to what is the LHP and the why do the Light Skills.
- How to implement the LHP into the school as a stand-alone project or with current programs already in place. (Consideration to school needs)
- Schedules, activities, and positions (Light Leaders) are outlined for the LHP. (Simple to do and supported by all staf
- Implementation starts day one of school and is consistently practiced every day of school.
First year:
- Contact is made with a LHP trainers. Giving constant support to keeping the Light Skills practiced daily.
- A yearlong reminder that the mission is to bring physical and emotional safety to the school community.
- Midyear a short second meeting takes place with staff to answer any questions review progress.
- Data will be collected at the end of the year to demonstrating how the LHP is created a safer school community.
- A project is developed to practice the Light Skill throughout the summer.
- Plans are made to continue the LHP in the coming year.
Second year:
- The school continues practicing the Light Skills daily.
- This is done by what was already implemented and any additions the staff would like to make.
- Continuing with the mission of bringing physical and emotional safety to the school community.
Support:
- LHP guides will offer support in continuation of implementing the LHP.
- If needed further trainings can take place.
- Data will be collected and analysis of the outcome of the LHP will occur at the end of the year.
- Plans for the next year of practicing the Light Skills in the school community.
- The LHP and the 6 Light Skills are a lifetime commitment.
- Emphasis needs to be kept on action and principle of the LHP.
Implementing the Light Skills is affordable, positive, productive, consistent, accessible to all, doable, enjoyable, and fun. Because along with being safe, school should be FUN!
